The cottage is surrounded by mature beech hedges which frame the driveway where parking is available for 2 cars.
There is a wooden gate from the driveway to a tarmac path leading to the front door. The gate encloses the garden for the benefit of children and dogs. Apart from the driveway, the cottage can be accessed on foot by another wooden gate at the front.
Tarmac paths lead to the front door from both entrance gates.
There are slate steps leading to the half glazed front door which opens to a light and airy hallway with lots of space for coats and boots.
On the left of the hallway is the sitting room which is very spacious and comfortable with a woodburner, making cold evenings very cosy. A great place to relax after a day of activity. The sitting room includes a TV, DVD, CD player and iPod Dock.
Opposite the sitting room is a bright and comfortable bedroom with twin beds which can be zip linked to make a super king-size bed on request. The bedroom has lovely views towards the village and Hawkshead Hill.
Behind the bedroom is the main bathroom which includes the cottage’s original roll top bath that has been fully restored and is great for a long relaxing soak. There is also a separate shower, wash basin, wc, heated towel rail and under floor heating.
Behind the sitting room is the double bedroom which has lovely views into the rear garden and benefits from an en-suite shower room with wash basin and wc.
At the end of the hallway is the kitchen/diner with under floor heating. The dining area is next to the French doors which lead to the rear garden with views across to Latterbarrow and Claife Heights. There is a modern fitted kitchen including gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and all you need for a self catering holiday.
A small utility room is at the end of the kitchen which houses a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Outside the cottage is surrounded by its own private garden on three sides. The rear garden is very sheltered and has a patio with a table and chairs perfect for enjoying the garden and dining outside, weather permitting. The patio has an outside light for warm evenings. The borders are full of flowers and shrubs. There is also a lockable shed in the rear garden which can be used for the storage of bikes and logs.
At the side of the cottage the garden is mainly lawn with shrubs and a mature Damson Tree. There is an outside tap which can be used to wash down dogs or bikes.
The front garden has a lawn with a circular seat in the middle and there is a further seat next to the front door. The borders are full of attractive shrubs and flowers.
